Description

After successfully participating in a LGI/LGIT Recertification or LGI Course, participants have the option of earning Waterfront Lifeguarding certification by way of test out. The candidate does not need to be currently certified in Waterfront Lifeguarding to participate and earn this certification.

Requirements:
Complete the Lifeguard Course prerequisites:
1. Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence (350 yards breaststroke and/or front crawl, 2 minutes of legs-only treading water, and 200 yards of breaststroke and/or front crawl)
2. Timed Event. Retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7-10 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds
3. Underwater Swim. You must complete the following sequence:
– Starting in the water, swim 5 yards. Your face may be in or out of the water.
– Submerge, swim underwater and retrieve the three dive rings.
– Return to the surface after picking up all three dive rings and continue to swim for another 5 yards to complete the sequence.

Successfully pass 3 Final Skills Assessments.

Successfully pass the Waterfront module written test.
